It's Fall!!

I LOVE this time of year.  I love the leaves changing colors, I love the cooler night air...sigh.  This is one of my favorite times to be alive.  ;)  So, I haven't been able to write as much as I'd like, we've been sooo busy with the wedding, it's like we have no life.  Yesterday we still went to the temple though, so it was all good.  ;)
Today we have some silliness as I won't be able to post for a little while - we're moving the desks out of the sunroom for the dancing, so that makes it a little difficult, lol.

Today we have some really silly items, so hope you have your funny bone ready…

Bright Pink lipstick day!  Okay, so Tom wouldn’t think this was that cool, lol, but it’s for Cancer, of course.  It’s kind of a cool site, and if I’d known about it ahead of time I would have looked for some bright pink, but that’s a color I don’t own in lipstick, lol…

Math Story Telling Day.  Well…this goes along with the districts drive to encourage math, right?  How did you use math today??  Lets see…if we are having a wedding reception where we’re serving peanutbutter bars, and there are 30 bars per sheet, how many sheets will I need to make? ….  Ugh.  These were always the problems I hated in school for some reason.  (Will you just write the numbers out for Pete’s sake??) Now I’d much rather have them in that form…interesting.  ;)

National One Hit Wonder Day.  Oh boy, everyone knows one…that one great song a group did and then never really had success after that?  What’s your favorite?  Mine is Believe it or Not…the theme song from Greatest American Hero…remember that show??  Sigh.

Vegan Baking Day.  I guess this is to encourage everyone to use items that aren’t from an animal…so no eggs, milk, cheese, butter, honey…  won’t be me!  ;)

Along with that, we have Hug a Vegetarian Day.  That should be easy, doesn’t everyone know someone who’s a vegetarian?  My daughter used to be one…until I made my smothered pork chops, then she gave up.  Afraid I don’t know any personally…this could be more challenging than I thought, lol.

Love Note Day!  Everyone write a love note to your significant other today!  (not like you need an excuse, but ya know) It will totally surprise them because it’s not valentines.  ;)

And last…it’s Save the Koala Day.  I didn’t know we still needed to save them, but ya know.  We are trying to save all sorts of things right now…there was just a news event this week about somekind of Grouse that’s doing better than expected here and won’t be put on the endangered list….

And, because I don’t want anyone to miss out on it, tomorrow is National Museum Day, and there are several museums in Utah that are participating with the Smithsonian and offering free entrance…including the Gateway Discovery Center and The Leonardo!!  So, everyone go enjoy for me, I’ll be too busy stringing lights and Tulle in my yard…lol  You have to get tickets online, here’s the link:

So, everyone enjoy the lovely weekend!  I know I will.  ;)

Are we Having Fun Yet??

Of course we are!  And today we have a whole lot of things to have fun with.  ;)

Most of it is silly, so I’ll just mention ones that Brownielocks mentions on her site..

World Car Free Day – I’d love to think they meant everyone got a free car, but ya know.  It’s another green day, telling everyone to walk instead of drive, or use busses or trains type thing.  Actually, they don’t want anyone to drive cars…and I find that interesting.  According to the site I found, they feel we’re a car dominated society.  I think that bears discussion, but not here, and not today.  Right?  Lol

Dear Diary Day – If anyone remembers journals, or still writes in one, this would be the day.  I used to be soooo faithful about writing every day.  Even on my mission I wrote pretty much every day.  That all changed after having kids, let me tell you.  Sigh.  Well…so write how much joy you found in life and perhaps it will breed more…  ;)

Elephant appreciation day – I’m not sure why elephants need more appreciation than other animals, but hey, I think they’re fun, so we should all go to the zoo and admire them.  ;)  Or hang pictures on the wall or something…  make elephant shaped sugar cookies?  That sounds good…

Hobbit Day – well, if you’re going to comic con this weekend, you can save your hobbit appreciation for that.  If not, tonight would be a good night to watch the Hobbit.  ;)  If you had several hours…and not a wedding to be planning for…and lots of food for late dinner and early evening snacks…lol

Ice Cream Cone Day! Yeah!! We have ice cream, just not the cone.  I might have to grab some so we can eat ice cream while we’re working in the yard.  That’s a way to combine stuff, right?  I know how to party!!

National White chocolate Day.  Ugh.  Okay – for those of you who like the stuff, enjoy!  I’m happy for you!  Personally, there are very few times I like it, so don’t’ know what to say about it that’s positive…lol

National Women Road Warrior Day – This is apparently to honor those women who are traveling a LOT and are called road warriors?  Never heard of it before…think it’s kind of crazy, but hey, thought it could go along with liking to travel and so, perhaps that can be the thought.  Where do you want to go?

And for an even smaller bit of silliness – today is the International Day of Radiant Peace.  Find your inner happy place and feel that peace, baby.  ;)

And lastly…for those who are Jewish – it’s Yom Kippur today!  So, happy day of atonement!

Hope you all have a great day and enjoy the great fall weather.

It's Friday!

Hi Everyone!  You made it!  It’s Friday!!  I don’t know, but it seems like this week was a little long…could be I’m getting ready for a wedding in 11 days that makes it seem that way, but who knows.  Lol   Today there is LOTS of stuff on the crazy calendar, so we’ll just jump in.  ;)

Air Force Birthday!   Happy bday to the Air Force!  My brother was in the Air Force when I was a teenager, and I always thought it was so cool.  I almost joined up…but went to college instead.  Hm…interesting choice, huh?  I probably wouldn’t have made it into the academy, lol.

Constitution Day – which I think is strange, because I remember hearing on the radio yesterday that all these people became citizens because it was constitution day…oh well.  Still a great thing to remember…and make sure our children remember.  ;)

National Ceiling Fan day!!  Okay – so everyone who loves the invention of the ceiling fan raise their hands!!  (not too high, don’t want to get clipped by them, lol)  I tell you, we have several in my house and wish we had more.  What’s kind of funny is the day was started in 2013 to support using less energy by encouraging people to turn off their AC and turn on their fans…

National Cheeseburger Day! My kind of day to celebrate…my favorite (well…next to pizza) meal.  We make turkey burgers at my house, with cheese and pineapple slices...yum!!  But once in a great while, we love to get a good Burger Stop burger.  Ever had one?  Have to try it...  ;)

National Respect Day.  Hm…sad that we have to have a day to remind people to be respectful of others, right?  This would be a day to remind your kids…lol

And last…
It’s National Clean up the World Weekend.  It’s nice to think they were actually thinking we could do that…I guess it would be a start, no matter how much got done.  We’ll be doing our part, lol.  Like I said, wedding in 11 days in my back yard….so we’ll be cleaning.  ;)

Once again I will also be at the Layton FEST tonight, selling paintings and doing face painting...so if you're in the area, come visit!!!  ;)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Wow... really??

so - I didn't realize it has been that long since my last post.  I think I kind of gave up on it, knowing I don't have many follower...
