Happy Friday and end of April and...

Next week is May!  Last real month of school...amazing how it goes when you are thinking it's going to take forever, lol.

Well, lots' of things because there are lots for tomorrow and I thought you'd want to know them.  😊 You know, inquiring minds want to know, right?  And all of you are curious cats, so to speak.

before we get into all that, I wanted to share the latest photo of my grandson - he's so CUTE!  I know, I'm not biased or anything, lol.  But just saying - he's 6 months old now, and weighs 26 pounds!!  I tease my daughter that he's our little Buddha.  We switch arms when holding him fairly often...  lol

Hope you've been enjoying the bi-polar weather we've been having - typical Utah, right?  We might have a spring this next week, just in time for May.  😊  (Never mind the snow you are seeing outside your window right now... it will end soon!  lol )

so, onto the world's silly thoughts:

Biological Clock Day - Just saying, I don't think this was a thing till the 70's or 80's.  No one was worried about their biological clocks until women were in the workplace and realized they were running out of time to have children and families and all the stuff that is right in the world.  I guess that's something I never had to worry about...sigh.  (7 children is quite a few, especially when I was only going to have 1!)  Remember Look Who's Talking where she's having a nightmare and hanging onto the hands of a clock with the doctors voice in her head telling her that her biological clock is ticking?  Yeah...

National Hairball Awareness Day - for those of you cat lovers...I guess it's a big deal...you're supposed to brush your cat as often as possible so they don't get as many hairballs... we're lucky if our cat will put up with being brushed.  Do you have issues with yours?  It's almost getting to shaving season...  😉

National Teach Your Children To Save Day - this is always good your kids are never too old for this -- I promise you.  We're still going over this and our oldest turns 30 this year... sigh.  That's not possible.  I think I had her when I was 12...

National Superhero Day - Yeah!  who's your favorite superhero?  I always liked the unknown ones when I used to read comic books.  Ever hear of Shadow girl?  That was one of my favorites.  She didn't have any power in the sun...  kind of hard to be a superhero in the daytime.  Anyway - today it's Wonder Woman!!  I used to watch the TV show.
Anyone remember that?  The new movie coming out looks promising though...

National Blueberry Pie day -  This is a yummy thought.  Anyone care for pie??  I think we ought to all go find some for lunch.  😊

And because there were so many, I thought I'd put tomorrows stuff out there too.  I don't know how people come up with all of this!  I think they have too much time on their hands, lol.  Or they are so dedicated to their cause that they want the world to know it... whatever - it's silly.  😊  (most of it)
I cut out a lot because some of it was just tooo political.  This is supposed to be silly stuff, not depressing remember all the sadness in the world stuff.  ☹

International Dance Day - Dance!!  Dance like no one is watching, ya'all.  😊

or you can always learn to dance, lol
one of my favorite parts of the movie.  😊

Eeyore's Birthday Day -

He's not going to be happy about it, but we all love Eeyore and would celebrate with him and Winnie the Pooh.  Have you heard there's going to be a new movie coming about Christopher Robin as an adult??  sigh.  Don't cry, Pooh...

National Herb Day - hey, herbs are awesome!!  Don't they add such flavor to our foods??  And they are good for you too, so enjoy!!

National Pool Opening Day - for those who live in warmer climes, I'm sure.  Surf n Swim still has the cover on guys...it's still open.  Wednesdays are $1 a person right now!!

National Prepare-a-thon Day- this day is to encourage everyone to prepare for any kind of emergency.  Not a lot of big disasters happen here, but we do get flooding, there is chance of mud slides, and we all know that some day the big quake is going to happen...are you prepared should you need to leave your home?  Have a backpack with essentials?  Have access to clean water?  It's a good idea...  find out more here.

National Sense of Smell Day - if you appreciate your nose and the joy it brings to your life, then this is a day for you.  Personally, I love the smell of flowers in the spring, and food when it's cooking.  Smell adds so much more to the enjoyment of life!  I sure am thankful for it...

Save The Frogs Day - okay - so something else that needs saving, I guess.  I like frogs well enough, but I don't know that I am worried about them.  Are you?    How about if we were all trying to find our handsome prince, lol.

World Wish Day - what would you wish for?  World peace?  More money?  Here's some humor for the day...be glad you don't have a son like Kyle...

Zipper Day - Zippers! Who isn't glad to have zippers?  I don't know why they don't celebrate it on the birthday of the man credited with creating them, but who know.  I just know that they make my life a heck of a lot easier!!
National Shrimp Scampi Day - and one of my favorite things...shrimp scampi!!  that would be something awesome for dinner tonight.  Good stuff...

Well, hope you've enjoyed the novel...and that you've had a good week.  This should be a good weekend and remember - you are the best you there is!!  😉
enjoy!

Lovely Spring...

Saturday and I am having to force myself to get moving.  It's the kind of day that I'd love to sit outside and watch the world go by.  sigh.
My hubby is at a class all day, and I should get loads done, but I have no ambition.  I remember thinking when I went to bed last night that hey, I can clean off my desk (it's bad people, bad!!) and clean our bedroom (why does dust congregate there more than anywhere else???  ARGH) and then the front room...sigh.  And I've started on the bedroom, started laundry, did a load of dishes, made breakfast and folded some clothes.  Now I'm out of energy.  sigh.
I'm definitely not 25 any more.  It's the pits.
Well...here's hoping you'all get more done than me.  :)
Have a great day!!

A Little Sunshine?

Well...I've been so busy at work and at home that I've not posted as much as I would have liked.  I like the idea that my silly email at work was actually missed by one of the recipients, and that cheered me up a little.  :)
My flowers continue to bloom and look wonderful...
Hope you all had an awesome break and Easter.  We had a fun Easter Egg hunt on Saturday ( my hubby calls them spring egg hunts, lol) and a real quiet Sunday.  Cooked a turkey (have a hard time serving ham on Easter - I mean, Christ would never have eaten it, ya know?? lol) and it broke in half.  I didn't think I'd over cooked it...strange.  Anyone else ever have that happen?  Talk about falling off the bone...

Anyway so, here are some events to enjoy:
Education & Sharing Day -This fits right in with our profession...you are already cool - but then you knew that, right?

National Garlic Day - ah the wonderful Garlic!!  If you were a vampire enthusiast, I guess you wouldn't like it as much...but there's so many things it's good for, an not just for enriching food.  Did you know it has many health benefits?  Good stuff.  😊 Garlic bread...that's what we need.
National Hanging Out Day - this is for those millenials, right?  that hang out instead of dating and moving on with their lives...sigh.  Well...at least that's what I thought it was about.  Actually...it's about hanging out your laundry!!  Conserve energy and hang up those clothes!  lol  I keep telling my hubby if he rigged up a line outside our back door that was on a pulley, I'd love it.  sigh.  anyway - if you have all day to hang them up and then pull them down, have at it.  😊
National Stress Awareness Day - and this is in honor of yesterday...tax day.  SIGH.  Can I just say how much I HATE taxes??  It stresses me out every year...just imagining that someone is going to tag us for auditing, or we'll have some kind of issues, etc.  This year we owe big time (got to love adult children who aren't going to school and earn too much money...😒 ) so I was stressed over that.  Good thing I had my hubbies and mine engagement anniversary to celebrate.  31 years ago he asked me...and I said yes!!  How did we celebrate?  Pizza!!! (Godfather's pizza isn't around close enough anymore... :( ... ) (what can I say - he asked me what my favorite food was - always has been pizza.  He should have asked (and claims he did) what food would be a celebration thing...lol)
What's your favorite way to relieve stress?
National Wear Your Pajamas To Work Day -  Some of these we really need a heads up on.  I mean, come on - find out that it's wear pajamas to work day and I'm already here!?  Of course, I'm sure some people would rather not be out in public in their pajamas, and there are some that - well, we won't elaborate.  You can feel like the kids in school and run around in jammies and have an excuse, right?  Hm.
National Amaretto Day - and last...Amaretto day.  I guess if you like the stuff, you're excited.  So - enjoy, whoever likes it.  😊

Have an awesome day!!

Friday, April 07, 2017

Well...the weeks over...

And I didn't get even half the stuff on my list done!!  sigh.  I knew I was being ambitious, but seriously!!  Problem is, I didn't want to do half of them.  :(   I was enjoying being a little lazy.  I did get a lot of editing done...and remembered a story that I want to submit to Shadow Mountain...but no painting (yet, day isn't over, right?) and haven't got the cabinet cleaned out and organized.  I might still get that done.

I got to see a couple of movies (no, not in the theater, nothings out that I want to really see right now).  Passengers and Inferno.
Passengers is ...kind of sad, actually.  I liked the actors.  I think it's hilarious, its another one of those films that was bare bones on actors.  It left me thinking they should have done more with it.  I mean, they could have had children and - I almost said grandchildren.  That wouldn't have worked... lol.  Anyway - if you're looking for something to watch that doesn't take a LOT of brain cells...it's still good.

Inferno I'd read the book...and the movie is quite similar to the book, as are most of them.  It has an agenda, just like the rest of them, but it also moves FAST - typical Dan Brown.  Not sure if I like it... but if you like Tom Hanks, you'll probably like it.
I still can't wait for Hidden Figures to come out on DVD. Which should be soon...it's at the local dollar theater today!!  I'm so excited...

It's also Coffee Cake day - which is one of our family favorites.  We call it breakfast cake, lol.  Yummy stuff...we stick blueberries in it...but I can imagine a lemon curd filling too.  Have you ever had lemon curd?  We made it for the first time this week.  OH MY!!  awesome stuff...especially if you like lemons.  :)

And - No Housework Day!  Which is always a good thing to celebrate!!  so, gonna go have lunch with my sisters.
Enjoy the Day!!

A week to myself! Not...

So...I get a week of spring break to myself.  Actually, it would be cool if it were with my hubby, but that's not happening.  And then we have 4 adult children to deal with...at least 3 of them will be gone most the day, so that only leaves one.  The chatty one.  We'll see if he gets up before noon, lol.
I'm getting a perm today, which is the excitement of the day, lol.  My hair has grown so long (for me, lol) and the perm I got before Christmas just isn't doing it anymore.  sigh.  My hubby isn't thrilled, but he puts up with it.  :)

Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day - though a bit chilly.   But it's April, ya know?  My flowers are blooming! I love this time of year.  :)

We have a couple of things to celebrate...

Fan Dance Day... lol  Not that this is something most people would celebrate, but hey, you don't have to do the whole big fan no clothes thing.  Just dance till you're hot and sweaty and then fan yourself!!  It's all good.  :)

And then its Find a Rainbow Day.  Always good!  Yesterday we had a rainbow - it was gorgeous.  Not real bright, but you could see it between the trees.

best of all, it's Chocolate Mouse day!!  which is basically a really creamy, light, dark chocolate creation that melts in your mouth yummy.  Kneaders has a great little Chocolate Mouse Dome...(we call it a chocolate bomb)  It's the perfect size for one person - actually 2...calorie wise, lol.  Check it out, or make one for yourself.  You need cream... and chocolate.  :)

Have a wonderful day!

Wow... really??

so - I didn't realize it has been that long since my last post.  I think I kind of gave up on it, knowing I don't have many follower...
