I took this test the other day, and I'm not sure what I think about it. Does it mean that I appeal to every level?? Or that a kid would have fun reading my stuff...hmmmm
Whatever...
I also came across an article on Carrie's site that I thought worth mentioning. I'm not big at espousing political views on this blog, I have another blog for that when I'm feeling in the mood. But I do feel this is an important thing to read, so please take a moment if you are even thinking Obama is a valid choice for president...

Snow!
Once again, mother nature smiles upon us and gives us...SNOW!! I looked at the weather yesterday and all it said was rain, and a 30 percent chance at that. Now I look out my window and we have an inch of snow. Big flaky snow everywhere. At least it's stopped...grin. My kids are all bummed out. "Man! Just when it was getting warm..." Yeah, I know. Remember you live in Utah??? Spring is like a woman's mind -- LOL. I'm just glad my tulips haven't bloomed yet, although it's gorgeous under snow when they do. Think we'll have another storm in time for conference weekend? Wouldn't that be typical. At least I won't be there, I'll be bundled up eating blueberries and whipped topping on pancakes and watching on TV. mmmm, pancakes sound good...
Oh, and have to tell the world, I did the bowling training on the Wii with my hubby last night and got over 500 on the power bowling! Yeah me! Lol. My biggest thrill was the golf though, I made my first eagle! I was way psyched. Wasted way too much time on it though...I am striving to repent. Have a wonderful day!

Once again...
Do you ever feel like your life rotates from one state to another? That you are on top of things, everyone is happy (or reasonably so) things are going well financially and you are accomplishing the goals you have set -- then boom, the down cycle begins and you have to start all over again? Doesn't it get tiring? I realize that this is what life is about, but it's so frustrating to feel like you've finally got a hold on things and then feel them slip away...
We had another cat die yesterday. The twin to the one that died before. It's kind of strange, we found him just laying in the field next to our house. My hubby thinks that perhaps he was in an animal fight, but we will never know. They're dropping like flies. This keeps up, and we won't have to worry about how much cat food costs...sigh.
My hubby buried him while the kids were at an activity, and was a little emotional about it. I felt pretty much nothing. It was a cat. Am I insensitive? I don't know. I've known a lot of death in my life, and the fact that a pet has died is sad, but -- I believe their spirits go on, just as ours do. He's happy, he's with his brother, and we have one less mouth to feed. Man, I'm cold. I hope this doesn't dismay or startle any of you...it kind of surprises me.
I finally got some writing done last night. It's been a while, because I don't write well when the schedule is changed. That's something I need to overcome -- I need to write regardless of the changes. But, I'm still where I'm at. I wrote yesterday about the book in a month challenge that Tristi is doing, and I think it's going to be a good thing. I really need something to get me going again. I also really need to finish editing two of my stories and get them out. sigh.
I'm kind of in a gray mood. I feel like I've probably pushed you all away at this point and I'm alone with my thoughts. Isn't it strange how the mind works? I envision blogging as a person alone in a room, opening a door to a crowd of people. These people are all opening their little doors to the world, sharing a little of themselves. Soon, either those people are sharing with others, or they are holding themselves a little off, preferring to just read what the others are writing. Soon, they become a group, a neighborhood of their own. A worldwide neighborhood of people sharing thoughts, ideas, frustrations, family and friends. Have you ever thought how much Blogging would help the world if we truly listened to each other? What an interesting thought... and story line...

Easter
Well...Easter weekend was long and short and I wish I had another week. Does that make any sense?
My kids spring break was Friday and Monday, and fortunately, I get off the same days they do. So, Friday was so nice! I went to lunch with my sisters, which usually takes a couple of hours. I don't think I did a whole lot productive the whole day...hmm. Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt, which while chilly...was fun. My group is getting a little old for it, but the older kids like to help hide and of course the food afterward. This year was hot dogs...ugh. So I brought tuna and egg salads to scoop onto celery and lettuce leaves. It was wonderful. Then we proceeded to do yard work, although not too much with my hubbies still recovering back...sigh. But, this is the first year we've been able to prune the fruit trees most of the way!! We probably won't get anything this year now...lol
Sunday was wonderful meetings and a gorgeous day! We had my in-laws over for dinner, and dinner went very well. We played speed scrabble afterward. Anyone ever play that? I hadn't, it's very addicting.
Monday was another lazy day. We were going to go to the temple, but hey! When did they start being closed on Monday??? sigh. Oh well...that just means another day this week is a must. We played speed scrabble while the kids did laundry and played video games. (do we know how to get work done or what??? grin) We went swimming and then came home and had dinner and played some Wii... It was great. Now it's back to work...
I'm going to be doing Tristi's challenge in April. She's doing a Book In a Month challenge. I'm really feeling the need for something like that right now. If you are interested, go check it out! She's also got a great new template too...way to go Tristi!!

Spring in Utah...
I know, I know. You'd think after living here for almost 35 years I'd be used to the changes in weather daily during the spring. But it still amazes me! Yesterday we were all bemoaning the fact we would probably get snow again. It usually does snow at least once more before it warms up. Especially after we've put the garden in. sigh. I guess we'll see how it goes. We don't even have the ground prepped yet because of the back problems and still having snow on the ground until this past week. So, I'm not sure how the garden is going to do this year. At least my oldest son won't be here gripping about it...sigh. I almost wish he rather would be.
Anyway...it's been fun reading all the blogs lately. I have felt out of touch and it's been nice to catch up on everyone's doings. In many ways I feel I have a boring life. My kids aren't little anymore and don't get into as much trouble as they used to. Last night, there were only a couple of us home for dinner...with scouts and stuff. We finally ended up playing the WII for an hour. That thing could easily become addicting! Especially the golf. And I used to hate the game...grin.
Anyway, need to get breakfast and get showered. So far the day looks gorgeous...

The New Look
As you can tell, I got a new template yesterday. It was much easier than I expected it to be, and I just love tiger lilies! (Actually, I was informed they are day lilies, but you know...lol)
I didn't mind the template too much that I had before, I was just ready for something different. Sandra gave me the idea, Thanks Sandra!! This template just makes me feel...alive. So, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I've lost my links to the LDS blog ring, and hopefully I'll get those soon. If I could remember my password, that would help...anyone see my brain recently??
I was so frustrated by the time my hubby came home last night. We got a new computer in February, (and it's gorgeous!) and saved all the old documents. ONly...when we restored stuff, some of our back ups were not complete. Like our financial records... sigh. Anyway, I thought I would enter last months stuff and get us up to speed. Only to find out when he got home that we had already done that... Like I said, I'm really missing my brain and would appreciate it if someone could tell me where they've seen it last...

Wonderful Day
Well, we just had a wonderful weekend. How about you? I have to say, last night was one of the best evenings we've had together as a family for a while. It really made me appreciate our children and the time we are together, especially since I know it's going to be short as our oldest son goes to boot camp in July. We treasure these moments and hope that the kids do too.
We actually started buying seeds on Saturday. My hubby wanted to buy plants, but I was afraid they would freeze before we got them planted as it was snowing when we were shopping...lol Can't wait to get that garden going though...
Went and saw Horton Hears a Who on Friday. It was so much fun! It was way cute -- a little too much on the kid side to say it was fantastic, but it was very fun and we enjoyed it. I know my kids will. I think Jim Carrey did a great job, and so did Steve Carroll. Carol Burnet did an excellent mean kangaroo and all in all, there was NOTHING offensive in there at all. (contented sigh...) It was a wonderful evening, we haven't gone on a date night in a while. I commented to my hubby that it had been a while, and he reminded me that he'd been laid up for several weeks with his back...oh- right... lol That would be why.
Oh, and Carrie...you need to pick your prize. I want you to go to my web page and see which print you would like a copy of, or you can choose a sheet of my 12 days of Christmas. I'm going to see if I've got it posted there.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Well, it's Come and Gone
Well, I'm sure everyone was waiting with bated breath for the outcome of the contest! I know I was...grin.
Believe it or not, I only had one entry. The winner is.....(drum roll)
Carrie and Troy Keiser!! YEAH!!! Way to go, Carrie!
I loved your entry, so even if there had been more people who didn't just think about entering, you probably would have placed.
Here's the paragraph for everyone to read and enjoy:
"What do you mean it's loaded?" I asked as he handed me the package and stepped back on the bus.
"You'll see what I mean!" George hollered as the bus doors closed and it pulled away from the curb.
I stood there holding the small package, wondering if I should even open it. I walked a few paces and sat down on a park bench. Hands shaking, heart racing, I peeled back the plain brown wrappings, to reveal a book. I dove right in and read straight through to the end. This simple unadorned blue book would change my life.
He was right, it was loaded, with a blue-print for life!
Wasn't that good?? I loved that it was the Book of Mormon! Talk about pulling me right in. So, I'll be finding out which prize she wants. Everyone give her a hand!
This awards for you, Carrie!

Almost There!
I know I've been quieter this past couple of weeks, but I've explained it and I don't think anyone's been too upset. I haven't heard about it, anyway...grin. I'm not even sure many are reading my input any more, so once more this is for my own benefit.
We watched Mr. Magoriums Emporium last night for FHE. My hubby and I had seen the beginning of it, but never finished it. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, I didn't like the end -- I think it was a little too abrupt. I liked the actors that played the characters, especially Dustin Hoffman, I've always been a fan of his. I really loved the way he did Tootsie. But anyway, all of my kids loved it. I am so thankful when we can find a movie that is clean, wholesome and all of my kids from 12 to 20 like it. Don't you think that's a good thing?
I read an article the other day that said Utah is trying to lure more movie making here...we do have lots that goes on as it is. Most everyone has seen the southern part of the state without even knowing it. I'm thinking, why do they want to film so much here when most of what they are filming isn't going to be watched by most of the residents? grin...
anyway, I'd better get going with breakfast. Only two more entries and we're at the contest. Anymore takers on the madwrite??? come on...you know you want to!

I haven't died...and contest is almost over!
Hi everyone. Thanks for the kind comments on our kitten and our backs...grin. It's been a long road. I'm finally feeling better, and am going back to work next week at normal hours. This week I was working shorter days to see how my back liked it. I am just soooo thankful that it was a short thing and that the Lord has blessed me so quickly. My hubby is doing better as well, and is planning on going back to work although he still won't be able to lift much and has a hard time standing or walking for very long. I guess we'll see how it goes.
The contest will definitely be ending this week, and I've finally come up with two prizes that the winner be able to pick from. At this point, it won't be hard as I've only had one entry that I've seen...where did everyone go who thought they had a paragraph??? Hello???
Anyway, having a fun lazy rainy day today and plan to get lots of laundry done. Thanks for your friendships.
