It's Friday! what a loooong week...

It's finally here - Friday before Spring Break!  I know some of you were counting the days, lol.  (Just because I was counting down to when my daughter came home had nothing to do with it...😋)

And Utah weather being what it is, we're having a lovely week of "It's snowing!" and "there is sunshine in my soul today".  Hope you win the next round.  🙂

Whatever your plans are for the next week, we still have this day to do with as we will.  Gaze at photos of the beach,https://youtu.be/pz1BosPBGlo

eat some chocolate/candy, bake this awesome cake
read silly emails, the list is endless.  🙂

Had to mention this important activity today - it's Live Long And Prosper Day! All of you who honor the late 'Spock', (aka Leonard Nemoy) will now raise your hands in appropriate fashion.
You know you want to watch a Star Trek movie tonight, right?

Make Up Your Own Holiday Day - one of the online sites I like to go to for daily food holidays, is thenibble.  They chose to have gourmet mac and cheese day for their holiday.  What would you pick?

and last...Spinach Day - for those of you who don't like the leafy green veggie of power, I totally understand.  It took me a long time to like it fresh, but I think it's awesome.  I cook it up with eggs, put it in salads and when I crave it, make artichoke spinach dip.  I used to love it cooked when I was a kid and then I cooked up a can that I didn't heat properly and it made me sick...  took me a long time to get over that...😨

and so - want to leave you with some dance music, because you know, that's what I love.  First one is Hugh Jackman...why?  Not sure, just thought it was kind of funny - he can dance.  😋
and this one...  who knew Loki had moves like that!!??
Have a great break everyone!!

Happy first day after the first day of spring...

In other words, lol - Monday.  :)

And typical for Utah, it snowed yesterday and is pretty chilly this morning.  At least my car said it was 28 degrees...
In a presentation last week, my boss posted the 12 seasons of Utah.  It was awesome.  Fake spring, extended winter, etc.  Well, guess we're well into that.

I didn't think it would be a day to post anything, then I realized that this might seem like a long week for everyone, seeing as how spring break is next week...  lol.  And... I noticed that today is kind of a fun day.  It's Talk Like William Shatner Day!!  Now that's pretty awesome, don't you think?  Who doesn't want to talk like him??  Although, I personally don't see the big pause that everyone gives him, lol.  I tried to think of which would be my favorite part, but it's hard.  Miss Congeniality has some great lines, but no one had a clip of him saying he doesn't own a gun, his family were Quakers, lol.  So, it's Star Trek...and Tribbles.  🙂
It's also As Young As You Feel Day - I'm not sure that's a good thing.  Sometimes I still feel like I'm in my 20's, but lately, that's been my mental state, NOT my physical state.  My body has totally forgotten what the 20s felt like... sigh.  How about you??

and last... it's National Goof-off Day - I'm thinking that's probably because it's the day after the first day of spring, so
everyone is going to want to run around and goof off.  But, since we live in the beehive state, where spring is all in the head, most the time, it's goof-off day because it's Monday and most people don't want to be at work, lol.

It's also National Water Day, but that seems kind of boring.  I mean, I'm VERY grateful for water, and that we have a ready (ish) supply of it, but well, it's water.  I'm sure if I lived in a third world country and had to trek for a couple of miles to get enough water to last a day I'd appreciate it a heck of a lot more.  My hubby told me that when they first built our home (we bought his childhood home) they had to dig a well, and they didn't dig it deep enough, so the water was pretty dirty...they used to drive up to the church and get water to do dishes and take baths.  They were so thrilled when the water lines were run.  Ever see the movie, Money Pit?  I couldn't get the clip where she discovers the water is hooked up, but there is this one...

We remodeled our home before we moved up here, and I remember feeling exactly like this when the stairs got put in.  It was awesome.  Same feeling when the water's been cut off for a while and is turned back on again.  Want to bring someone to their knees??  Cut off their water!!!  And, want to keep yourself healthy?  Drink LOTS of water.  that's the advice for the day, lol.

Well, hope you have a great day!!  Enjoy the sunshine and the promise of spring...  I mean, hey, my daffodils are blooming!  🙂

It's Friday!!

Happy Friday everyone!!  Let's take a minute and do a happy Friday dance...

Now - Hope your week hasn't been too bad, for the most part the weather has been wonderful.  Today is supposed to reach 70!  We're going to feel like summer, lol.  Hope you are able to get outside and soak up some of those rays.  🙂

Onto the silliness of the day...
First...it's Goddess of Fertility Day.  I so wanted to share a video clip from Yours Mine and Ours (the original) where Fonda wants to buy Ball a memento of their first and only date.  They look at a little statue in Chinatown in San Francisco, and the owner invites them inside.  (this is after they have told each other of the number of their offspring)  The owner tells them they have wonderful taste - the statue is the Goddess of Fertility.  They hastily leave...  I know it's a mixed bag out there.  Some of us have no issues with fertility, and others really struggle...  but if you have a chance to watch that movie, you need a good laugh!!

National Chocolate Caramel Day - we all like chocolate, and any reason to eat it, (well, most of us, lol.  There is the odd one out that doesn't like it)  But I love good, chewy caramel, and if it's dipped in dark chocolate, even better.  What about you?

Swallows Return to San Juan Capistrano Day - have you ever been to this?  I didn't realize it was such a big deal, parade and everything.  I just laugh because it's mentioned in Groundhog Day, and so it's become part of the cult legend.
World Sleep Day  - I think it's ironic that this comes the week we push the clocks forward a day.  I think it's ridiculous, and I always have a hard time with it.  Do any of you??  I just don't sleep as well...  so, click on the link and see if anything they have might help you.  I think it's good that we all practice mindfulness before we go to sleep and see if it will help...  🙂
Animated GIF
Whatever helps you smile today, I hope you find it.  The sun is out, the weekend is here, and for the most part, 2021 is going better than 2020.  I mean...yesterday was the year mark of the earthquake in Magna that we all felt, and nothing big like that for us so far this year.  (everyone knock on wood!!)
So have a good one.  You're all awesome!!
Here's a clip to get you bouncing on your chair...

Happy late bday Mr. Seuss!

So - I know I'm kind of wading into the dark political or social commentary waters here... but I have to say, Happy bday to Dr. Seuss!!  The man who has been celebrated for decades as the man that helped and encouraged children to read...is now being considered racists.  It is just soooo sad!!  Let's be real.  Today's society of 'woke' and 'inclusion' and 'racists' mentality is worse than it was when I was growing up.  I grew up in the Bay Area of California.  I lived in a town where there were all sorts of cultures and races and I don't remember feeling negative toward anyone but the Hispanic girl gangs that had started popping up before I moved to northern California.  And that was because we got into a tussle during PE in school and they didn't like me either...(it's kind of fuzzy now if I yelled fowl because I was being crowded at the basketball net, or because they were trying to hit the ball out of my hands...lol)

Anyway - regardless, I grew up on Dr. Seuss, and my kids had those books, and my grandchildren have his books.  Granted, I have not read ALL of them...heavens, there are quite a few -- but the one's they are saying will no longer be published sound awesome, and I want to get them before production ends.  In fact, we just got a couple at Sam's club the other day that we didn't have.  You start talking about banning books, and racist themes, and I'm likely to go look at it and see why.  Is that your mentality?  I wonder how much of the US is full of people more like me than the other...

And since I missed a chance to wish happy bday to Dr. Seuss yesterday  here we go.  We used to have a day celebrated at my work where we could read for an hour and they counted the pages everyone read. I looked forward to that day all year.  It was a chance to read at work, for one thing, and a chance to READ, which is still a premium thing in my life.  sigh.  (I had so many books I wanted to read over Christmas break and only got through one!!! 🙁)  Sadly, that day has fallen by the wayside, and I've stopped bugging the secretaries as to if we're doing it anymore.  But - that doesn't mean you stop reading!  and, I found this hilarious video of a guy that raps the Fox in Socks book.  You won't believe it - I'd forgotten what a tongue twister he was.

It reminded me of Studio C and the tongue twisters they liked to do...
This was their first one we saw... and they did three more in varying degrees of hilarity.  🙂

(sorry, the video clips aren't cooperating...🙄)

If you're into Anime stuff...today is Princess Day in Kunto province.  I guess it's a big deal over there...  You can watch Princess Diaries and pretend...

It's also Simplify Your Life day - which is always good.  Funny how the older you get, the less 'stuff' you want to clutter up your life.  I'm finding that I just want to clear off all my counters and my desk and just have things simple.  It's less stress for me.  What helps you simplify your life?

It's also a crazy thing...What if Cats and Dogs had opposable thumbs day?  Who dreams up this stuff??  this little commercial is fun though...

There is also a Soup it Forward Day - I like that idea.  Create your favorite soup and share it with your neighbor or a family memeber if you're still Covid shy.  Soup is always good...

And last...  Mulled Wine Day.  Since I'm not into wine, I think mulled cider should be a good substitute.  Don't you?  I love mulled/spiced cider.

Well...that's all for today.  I hope you have a great one, and enjoy the lovely spring weather!  Here's a last video clip...since today is also I Want You to Be Happy Day...  let's be happy...

Wow... really??

so - I didn't realize it has been that long since my last post.  I think I kind of gave up on it, knowing I don't have many follower...
